Governor Hogan and legislative leaders have reached an agreement on a funding plan for local roads and bridges – one that will boost Highway User Revenues over the coming years and avoid the pending cliff effect.

The Governor announced the framework of the plan, and his support, while meeting with municipal leaders this week – and legislative leaders appear ready to move the new deal in amended legislation before the session ends. This critical increase in the share of funds to counties and Baltimore City would help secure local infrastructure investments and make more progress toward the fair share of transportation revenues that served Maryland motorists for decades.

Conduit Street has your coverage, with full county-by-county details expected in legislation in the days ahead.
