Together we Give: #GivingTuesday is "an opportunity for people around the world to stand together in unity - to use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and heal." In these trying times, thank you for giving local.

Nominations are due January 15, 2021 to the El Dorado Hills Chamber office.
El Dorado Hills Chamber 2020 Business of the Year Awards
You are invited to nominate a fellow business or yourself for the 2020 Business of the Year Awards. Categories for this year’s awards include:
  • Home-Based Business
  • Young Entrepreneur
  • Start-Up Business
  • Small Business
  • Excellence in Business.
In light of the unprecedented challenges since March, any business plans in response to COVID-19 are also requested for consideration. Other factors for awards include financial health, accomplishments, and community involvement.
3rd Quarter 2020: Local performance was strong in Q3 2020, bouncing back from decreases in the previous two quarters. Strong and significant increases in all five components pushed the snapshot up 55.3% from the previous quarter.

The average home sales price was over $830K, the highest level since 2010. Sales tax revenue was nearly $1 million, the highest level since Q1 2010.
COVID-19-Related Laws
CalChamber: More than 20 new labor and employment bills were signed into state law this year. Unless otherwise stated, these new laws take effect January 1, 2021. Read more.
Your Your input is needed! Since 2016 one the Chamber’s programs is our El Dorado Hills Business Confidence Survey. We opted to not survey in July because of the current economic circumstances. The survey is a five question, multiple choice survey to measure the level of optimism among local business leaders in the community and gives a subject of measure of where the economy is headed. This bi-annual survey asks local business owners and managers how they feel about the prospects on their companies in the year ahead and how they feel about local and national economics over the next 12 months. The survey produces valuable results, giving insight on the expected changes in employment, sales and profit among local businesses. The responses are aggregated and scored between zero and 100. A score over 50 indicates an overall optimism about the local economy. We have added a few questions regarding COVID-19 as well. Thank you for your time in completing this important survey.
Post Pic & Tag for Prizes: We are pivoting Small Business Saturday beyond just one day (November 28th) to the entire holiday season! #Explore95762+ is a simple and fun way to dine, drink, shop and explore what our region has to offer, while supporting locally owned businesses.

Thank you to businesses who are supporting this program and to those who are donating prizes:

What's next for Prop. 15
We're proud to be a part of this coalition with CalChamber that helped to defeat Prop. 15: Proposition 15 was defeated by over 600,000 votes and California managed to avoid another landmine on the road to economic recovery. The initiative would have been the largest tax increase in state history, impacting small businesses, farmers, and consumers the most.
While Californians can breathe a deserved sigh of relief, the reprieve may be short-lived. The Legislative Analyst’s Office is expected to come out with an updated analysis of the status of the General Fund. The deficit may not be as bad as initially projected, but we do expect a deficit of some amount.
You are invited to join us and regional Chambers of Commerce on Zoom with California State Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, representing the 6th Assembly District.
