Update: Local Purchasing Incentive for Schools Going to Governor!
We are thrilled to share the news that the Vermont Legislature has passed a Local Foods Purchasing Incentive bill, and will be allocating $500,000 towards this incentive for schools for the first year. This bill will get a program up and running that will encourage schools to buy more Vermont food for their school meals by offering an additional reimbursement to schools that achieve local purchasing targets.
