Happy Monday! Here is a snapshot of what is happening in our Lodge this week. Hope to see you one or more of the following days.

Notes:

• Save the Date:  Sat 8/26 We have the pleasure of being entertained by Ron & Paul, a fantastic live duo in the Clubroom bringing the nostalgic 60's, 70's and 80's to life with a pop-rock twist. Delivering iconic hits and chart-topping classics, blending timeless melodies with their own unique sound. 
• Volunteers Needed: As unbelievable as it may seem, it is time for us to start planning our end of season Labor Day Cookout (Sep 4th). These cookouts only take place thanks to our volunteers. The Labor Day cookout most of all because we supply a HUGE water slide for our members' children and they LOVE it! This slide can only operate with the supervision of an adult. Without parent volunteers, this slide will sit empty. We are looking for volunteers to man the slide for 30 or 60 minute increments from 11-4 pm. We also need volunteers to help put on the amazing cookout that you are all accustomed to. There will be sign up sheets for the slide and for the cookout in the lodge for you to jot your names down. Thanks in advance for helping our Lodge work together.
• Membership number: Joined recently and your membership card does not have a member number, email the lodge secretary at secretary@sanfordelks1679.org and he will respond with your number.
• Rental Information: If you are considering renting our facility (or sponsoring a rental), start by reading this information before contacting the Club Manager.
• Membership # Search: One membership # per month will be randomly picked and can be found tucked away somewhere in our Monthly Newsletter. If you find the number and it is yours, email er@sanfordelks1679.org to verify the winning # and to collect a free meal of your choice at the Lodge. Make sure your dues are paid in full as this will only apply to members who are current when the newsletter goes out. There have been 3 members that have not claimed their free meal to date. It is a great time to check your membership number and start reading the Newsletters. 

Monday

Monday 8/7: Tonight is our normal ribeye, marinated chicken breast or salmon. You have the choice to make your meal a sandwich or a salad. Served from 6-8pm. Don't forget to ask for light blackening if you are feeling a bit spicy. 

Tuesday

Tuesday 8/8: Today is National Happiness Day. Kindness brings happiness and we can all use a little bit of kindness. Put an extra large smile on today and pass it around. Join us at the Lodge and grab a bite to eat. Our fryer menu is available all day. 

Wednesday

Wednesday 8/9: Membership Meeting begins at 7pm. Our clubroom is open before and after the meeting. Fryer food available before and after as well. Wednesdays usually attract a pretty good amount of people. Come on in and join us. 

Thursday

Thursday 8/10: Fun fact for the day- Cape Hatteras, NC is the home of the tallest brick lighthouse in the U.S. Original construction was in 1802 and it stands at 210 feet tall, with a range of 24 nautical miles. Our fryer menu is available. Stop in and sit a spell with some of your friends in the Clubroom. 

Friday

Friday 8/11:  Shrimp and Grits $14: Back by popular demand, one of a kind culinary delight. Homemade stone ground grit cakes smothered with iron skillet fried collard greens, bacon, and Vidalia onions. Topped with cream sauce, cheddar cheese, scallions and grilled shrimp. Served from 6pm to 8pm.

Saturday

Saturday 8/12: Don't forget about the Farmers Market, 8:30- Noon on Chatham St. Many great items to see. Come on over to the swimming pool and Clubromm after the market. Pool opens at 10:00am and the Clubroom opens at noon. Fryer menu items and pizza will be available all day.

Sunday

Sunday 8/13:  Airlines saved $40,000 in 1987 by eliminating one olive from each salad served in first class. Stop in and we will add an extra olive to your martini. The swimming pool and Clubroom both open at 1pm. Don't miss out on these final summer days. They will be gone before you know it.

Lounge Rental

Want to have a birthday party but don't want 20 or 30 kids running around your house that you have to clean up after? We have a solution for that. Consider renting our lady's lounge for birthday parties, baby showers, etc.. It cleans up nicely. Contact club manger for more details.
