Thanks Triple Terrain Trail Trekkers!

May 25 | 2024

A BIG Thank You to the local Triple Terrain Trail Trekkers run/walk group for their very generous donation of $1,300 to Wapiti Nordic from their Meet in the Middle 10 hour trail running event on May 25th. Every year the group selects a non-profit to benefit from event proceeds - this year it was us! Way to go Trekkers!

Safe Sport - NEW!

Ongoing in 2024 |

WNSC is in the process of adopting the Safe Sport Policies and Practices that are endorsed by the Provincial and National Sport Organizations that we are associated with. The policies are intended to promote a Safe Sport environment in a manner that allows for consistent, immediate, appropriate and meaningful action should any issues arise, and they are also intended to prevent issues from arising in the first place by communicating expected standards of behaviour. Church Camp on North Trails

July | 2024

Our neighbors at the Church Camp have advised us that they have camps planned on the following dates: July 9-11; July 15-19; July 22-26 and August 2-4. If you are using the North trails during these dates please be respectful and stay out of their recreational lease - that is, stay on our marked (yellow diamond) multi use trails. And watch for extra kids and vehicles in the north parking lot!

TRAILS

Thank You County of GP!

June | 2024

The Club was successful in its application to the County of Grande Prairie for $5,000 in Operating Assistance. The funds will go towards supporting children's programs at Wapiti Nordic. The County has been a generous and steadfast municipal partner over the years - this funding was in addition to $31,000 for legacy equipment to host the Alberta Winter Games and $20,473 in Capital (2024) for three new pieces of equipment! Much appreciated!

GRANTS

Stay Safe! Be BearSmart

Summer / Fall 2024 |

When using our trails, please remember that you are recreating in a wildlife corridor! Make noise, travel in a group carry bear spray somewhere accessible and know how to use it! The Club is not able to report all sightings so trail users travel at their own risk.
