Dress Codes and Discrimination
The Fourth Circuit, in an en banc decision, recently addressed a North Carolina charter school’s mandated attire based upon traditional gender roles, ultimately striking down the school’s dress code as a violation of the Equal Protection Clause. In the same decision, the Court held the school’s dress codes subject to Title IX. Heidi Torvik Donates Time for Two Flute Performances
Heidi Torvik performed flute music for the Valentine’s Day celebration at the Fourth Judicial District, providing ceremony music for approximately 25 couples married that day. She also performed holiday music on her flute on December 15th at Capella Tower in Minneapolis (right).
