Drug Take-Back Day

The City of Long Beach Police Department and Long Beach Aware are once again partnering with the DEA to hold A Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 26, 2024. The event will take place from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Long Beach City Hall (1 West Chester Street, Long Beach, NY).

DEA and its partners will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs. Liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes, other sharps and illegal drugs will not be accepted. The DEA will accept vaping devices and cartridges at its drop off locations provided lithium batteries are removed.


Posh Pets

Join Posh Pets Rescue in Kennedy Plaza this Sunday, October 27th for their 2nd Annual Posh-A-Thon Charity Walk from 12pm - 3pm. They will have snacks and refreshments, Posh swag for sale and even some dogs for adoption!

Hydrant Flushing

The Long Beach Water Transmission Department will conduct Fall hydrant flushing beginning Friday, November 1st through Friday, November 15th.

This semi-annual flushing is done to remove sediments from the system and helps to ensure proper water pressure. During this time, you may experience some low pressure or water discoloration. For more information, please visit https://www.longbeachny.gov/hydrantflushing
