For those of you who know me, you know how important I believe libraries are. They help kids learn, adults have access to needed resources, and seniors to stay connected. Our Long Beach libraries do so much more than just let you borrow books, they are about community.
The Long Beach Public Library has launched a survey to understand community interest and preferences in a variety of service areas. The survey is available online now through August 28 and is available in English, Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog. Paper copies of the survey, also available in multiple languages, are available at all library locations offering Grab & Go and LBPL To-Go services.
The LBPL survey solicits community feedback in areas such as library hours, library news and adaptive or assistive technology. Its goal is to identify which services are of utmost importance to patrons and afford patrons an opportunity to make suggestions.
Paper surveys are available at the following LBPL To-Go locations Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 7 p.m.; Wednesdays, noon to 6 p.m.; and Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

The LBPL’s collection currently includes more than 800,000 items, and features print materials, recordings, DVDs, ebooks, downloadable audiobooks, streaming movies and music, and Chromebooks and wireless hotspots available for checkout. The digital library includes resources for language learning, homework and job assistance, vocational and tech classes, hobbies, genealogy and news.
