Long Beach Public Works Partners with Transnomis Solutions!

Partnership Spotlight!

During the 2021 Smart City Challenge, the Department of Public Works participated in the challenge to seek a public-facing, map-based, automated solution to publicize private construction activity occurring in the public right-of-way.

Through guidance of the Smart City Initiative team, Public Works partnered with Transnomis Solutions, a Canadian-based company specializing in intelligent transportation solutions. After four months working on the pilot program, Public Works is ready to launch the online user-friendly map-based solution and will be soliciting feedback from City staff and residents. Stay tuned for results!

The Smart City Challenge is Back!

Now entering its fourth year, the Long Beach Smart City Challenge enables City Departments to collaborate with technology companies to address civic problems to increase our

capacity for service delivery to residents.

This program invites staff from all City Departments to identify opportunities to collaborate with technology companies for a period of up to six months to pilot emerging products and services.

Training Session!

Laserfiche is giving back to the community by teaming up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the City of Long Beach to provide complimentary AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials training (1 day) and Architecting on AWS training (3 days) to promote career growth in technology.

This training is offered as part of the City of Long Beach Technology & Innovation Department to connect with community partners to provide job training and upskilling that prepares individuals for industry-leading certifications.
