Teletest Focus+ can inspect long lengths of pipeline from a single tool location. This pulse-echo method using Guided Waves means that the sound is transmitted along the axial length pipe finding corrosion and inspecting inaccessible areas not covered by conventional means. No other method can cover such a large surface area inspection in one test.

Inflatable Collars Thin and Light: Optimizing Pipe Inspections One-piece inflatable collars are compatible with Teletest Focus+ guided wave testing hardware multimode and torsional modules and have been designed with all common pipe manufacturing standards considered. These collars are made from state-of-the-art fiber reinforced Kevlar that are thinner and more lightweight when compared to the industry norm. This design reduces the necessary clearance between pipes to 65 mm (2.56 inches) an important consideration as many pipes run in close proximity. Mini-Tools Inspecting Smaller Pipes the Efficient Way Teletest ‘LATCH and FIRE’ Mini-Tools inspect small pipelines ranging from 38.1 to 127 mm (1.5 to 6 inches), superseding heavy fixed tools. This represents a step change in efficiency when compared with cumbersome “solid transducer ring” tools. The radical design combines the latest lightweight engineering materials and latch design to provide a tool that is light, easy to use, and only requires 42 mm (1.7 inch) clearance between pipes.

High Temperature Modules Compatible with standard inflatable collars, Teletest High Temperature modules and transducers offer a cost-effective way to inspect pipes with a maximum temperature of 240° C (464° F) long term. Keeping the tool on a pipe rated at 350° C (662° F) for approximately five minutes per session & allowing it to cool thoroughly between tool locations has also been successfully tested.

Multi-Mode Modules The Most Advanced Guided Wave Inspection Method Teletest Multi-Mode Modules are unique in the guided wave market as they accommodate five transducer elements: three to excite the longitudinal mode and two to generate torsional waves. Each mode has its pros and cons for flaw detection. Multi-Mode capability ensures the wave mode is optimized for the specific pipe being inspected. Torsional Modules Improved Inspection using 5-Ring Torsional Transmission Details The Teletest Focus+ is the only guided wave inspection system on the market that has implemented a 5-ring torsional array; standard equipment only uses a 2-ring array. This is possible thanks to the Focus+ instrument’s unique ability to transmit and receive on 40 channels.

Wavescan Collection and Interpretation of Data Made Easy

Wavescan software compliments Teletest Focus+ guided wave testing hardware, incorporating unique focusing capabilities using two different methods. Wavescan streamlines collection & interpretation of data with many features automated for speed & ease of use. Full data collection & interpretation at a given test location can be completed in a matter of minutes.  The software incorporates an automated frequency sweep facility enabling data to be collected at a range of frequencies, so that frequency can be optimized for the test pipe under assessment. In addition, the Wavescan software incorporates the focusing & C-Scan functions which gives circumferential distribution of defects around the pipe. It also sets the distance-amplitude correction curves automatically from the peaks of weld indications. The software has an automated reporting facility, integrated with Microsoft Word, for improved productivity.
