Long Term Disability Explained
two (as much as we can in the space and time allowed)

There is no doubt that long term disability is the most important benefit in any employee benefit plan. Despite that, there are still many plans that don't include it (particularly small groups), though the majority of non-profit plans do include LTD. While it is the most important, it can also be the most complicated.

We'll cover these questions:
  • What is LTD?
  • What does LTD cover?
  • How much does it pay?
  • What is a Non-Evidence maximum?
  • What is the waiting or elimination period?
  • What is the application process?

Citizenship as Part of the Corporate DNA
three The Value of Corporate Citizenship (CC)

Organizations are increasingly realizing the value of Corporate Citizenship (CC) efforts to positively impact their Functional priorities and business success. Communications, Marketing and Public Relations, which typically champion CC efforts, are accumulating deep CC-specific knowledge and insights which can be shared to support other Functional priorities including Risk Management and Human Resources (HR).

We are excited to announce our new name:
Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo is now
Social Development Centre Waterloo Region

A New Name and Fresh Look! Same Commitment to Community.

We had been known for so long by two names: the Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo and the Community Information Centre of Waterloo Region. After many years of thoughtful discussion and much consultation, we have arrived at a name that says it all. First, the new name showcases our primary focus on the social development of our local community. Secondly the name reflects the integration of community information and social planning, something we have worked to achieve for many years.

This integration is much more than a concept. With changes in technology, we are now better able to pull from a wide range of data sources to get what is needed to respond to inquiries and to support planning processes. A recent example of harvesting knowledge on an issue from different sources, including direct community input and from our traditional community information resources, is the Pedestrian Access and Sidewalk Safety advisory discussed below.
