USA Services of Florida will be conducting quarterly roadway sweeping services for the City of Longwood on March 9th and March 10th 2021.

Tuesday – March 9th - West of CR427

Please try to keep the roadways as clear as possible from trash cans, recycling bins, parked vehicles, or any other objects blocking the curbsides.

Longwood Police Department News
The first Police Community Forum of 2021 will be held on March 8th from 6pm to 8pm at the Longwood Commission Chambers. We will discuss crime stats, response times, crime analysis, and a variety of other topics that took place during the first quarter of the year. We are excited to share our information with you and get good quality citizen feedback.

Longwood Fire Department News
The crew members of Longwood Fire Department Engine 15 and Battalion 15 B shift got to meet a little girl and her family on Monday March 1, 2021. The last time they were together it was because the little girl had been hit by a car while riding her bicycle. When the Fire department arrived on the scene the little girl was pinned under the car. Lieutenant Troy Feist and Firefighters Enriquez and Walstrom used tools to lift the car off of the girl. The girl was taken to the hospital for treatment. She has now made a full recovery and is doing well!!
Other News and Events
EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: Seminole County has received $14.2 million from the U.S. Department of the Treasury intended to provide rental assistance to eligible households negatively impacted due to COVID-19.

If approved, residents can receive financial assistance of up to 12 months of unpaid past due rent and utilities. On March 1, the portal to apply for the program will open, with early registration starting February 22.

In preparation for the portal opening, please gather your documents and confirm eligibility. For more information on the Emergency Rental Assistance Program requirements please use the link below or call the hotline at (877) 573-9375.
Atif Fareed the CEO of AMCC (American Muslim Community Center/Clinic) is continuing to provide vaccinations to FL residents over 65 years of age; first responders and teachers 50 years or older.
