Eagles Day with Methodist Services’ Educare Learning Center …… 💚🏈🦅….. Fly Eagles Fly…..

Special thanks to dedicated members of Methodist Services’ Housing & Residential Staff who joined 400 people for several hours on a bitter cold evening starting at 10 pm. Volunteers counted “the number of people who were experiencing homelessness, who are living and sleeping on our sidewalks and other outdoor spaces or even underground in our transit stations,” according to the City’s Managing Director’s Office. Philly’s 2024 Point-in-Time Count located 976 people (a 38% increase from the City’s previous year). New 2025 data will be sent to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) to help determine federal funding, services & programs.

Big shoutout to Frontiers International Foundation Inc. who recently hosted Methodist Services children at the African American Kids Book Fair - PA Convention Center. Our children received book shopping funds; authors signed their new books. Lovely day!

Twenty Community School and SPC students, along with their parents, enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of pampering. The event offered guests complimentary manicures and stylish hair styles, featuring chic curls and trendy nails. Along with these beauty treatments, attendees were gifted hair care products, fashionable clothing from Expressions through the Hearts Inc., and a delicious lunch generously provided by Apex Pizza. It was a memorable day full of relaxation, kindness, and great company.

Methodist Services hosted its Winter Wonderland Family Forum at Gompers School. “Painting with a Twist” brought out 20 family members. Topics included safety during cold, inclement weather; ways to stay warm; info about our Case Managment Services. Great giveaways: blankets, hats, gloves, socks & toys, plus a raffle for a TV, crockpot, mini speaker, skateboard and scooter.
