GRADUATION SPEAKER AND SONG TRYOUTS
Graduation song auditions and Speaker auditions are via video! Basically, we just want you to tape your audition, no special gimmicks, or split cuts just record it using the guidelines below. Look below for how to upload the video once you understand the guidelines. The speeches will be judged by a mixed panel of 2021 students and SRV Staff after May 3, 2021. Please film on an iPhone 6s or higher (or the android equivalent). Film with the phone horizontal so it fills the whole screen.

FOR SONG TRYOUTS BEFORE YOU START INCLUDE:
1. Title of the song
2. Composer/arranger (especially if it is original)
3. Back-up tracks or live performances? What will you need for the performance?
When you are ready to upload the video, join the Google Classroom code o4oaovk, and upload your video to the assignment.

SPEAKER TRYOUT REQUIREMENTS
Please try to keep your speech to about 3 minutes of speaking time. Remember the occasion, the audience, and the four-year journey you have had at SRV. Notecards or scripts are okay for the video, just remember we want you as memorized if you get chosen for Graduation. We pick one to two speakers for Graduation and usually two speakers for Baccalaureate. When you are ready to upload the video, join the Google Classroom code o4oaovk,and upload your video.
General Student Announcements
2020-2021 YEARBOOK
Dear Community,
We have some EXCITING NEWS! The yearbook team has been working tirelessly to include students' TRUE experiences throughout this unprecedented year. When campus and sports were reopened, the yearbook staff decided it would be best to delay the yearbook publication so it would include ALL aspects of this school year. With the ever-evolving changes that took place during this school year, we wanted to be able to include ALL elements of the 2020-21 school year.

That means that every single event that took place both on and off-campus will be included in this year's book. In order to make that possible, the 2021 yearbooks will be available for pickup in August 2021. Seniors, we will have a specific pick-up date scheduled for you as soon as the yearbooks arrive. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors we will plan for an in-school pick up for you.

Thank you,
2021 Yearbook Staff

The club will provide 1-gallon water jugs to carry around the park to gain an understanding of the 5-6 hours of daily physical labor women and children in small villages around the world endure to collect clean water. Did you know $25 gives one person clean water for life? To sign up for the Walk for Water scan the QR code on the flyer below. Please share with family and friends and I hope to see you there!

Memorial Bike Ride for Steve Sumner
LET'S SADDLE UP FOR STEVE SUMNER
Please join The Crayon Initiative for the best bike ride of the year — held in lovin' memory of former SRVHS parent, Steve Sumner. Steve sadly suddenly passed away last year while doing one of the activities he enjoyed; riding his bike.

A wonderful family man, husband, father, and instant lifelong friend, Steve was a driving force on the board of The Crayon Initiative with his ready smile and generous spirit that lit up the entire community.

We know he'd love to see you and your family out there on May 16th, having fun and raising money for the benefit of a cause he cherished: recycling old, unused crayons into new smiles for hospitalized kids.
