Learn to Skate

The next 7-week Session of Learn to Skate/Learn to Play starts January 13. The cost is only $99 and we do offer a 15% discount if you sign up early. We offer skate rental as well.

Weight Loss Challenge

Walker Ice & Fitness will be having a 7-Week Weight loss challenge to begin January 8th until March 2nd. Two participants (1 male/1 female) will win 6 months FREE!! Details and sign up sheet
 
are at the front desk!   We will finish off the Challenge with a Member Appreciation Day on Monday, March 5th!

Meet Sandie VanBeek, Fitness Manager here at the Walker Ice & Fitness Center. Sandie has been working here for 3 years and come to us with 20+ years of fitness experience. She coordinates the entire class schedule and instructors as well as teaches several classes each week. Sandie also organizes fitness challenges, schedules gym orientations and oversees all of the fitness staff.

Senior Citizen's Bowling Tournament
Sign up before January 8!

Please join us for this FREE located outdoors at the Walker Ice & Fitness Center. Bring the kids for pictures with the Easter bunny and an Easter egg hunt for wrapped candy, plastic eggs, limited prizes and more!

Spring Coed Youth Soccer
Registration is open from February 1-28, 2018
  • 5-6 yr. old age group is $30 for Walker residents and $40 for non-residents
  • 7-8 yr. old, 9-10 yr. old and 11-12-13 yr. old age groups is $40 for Walker residents and $50 for non-residents
  • There is a $5.00 discount for each additional family member registered
  • There will be a $10.00 LATE FEE charged for any registrations received after the February 28th deadline

Spring Softball Updates

Spring 2018 Girl's Softball
Registration is open from February 1-28, 2018
 
  • 6-7-8 year old age group, 9-10  year old age group, and 11-12-13 year old age group is $40 for Walker residents and $50 for non-residents
  • There is a $5 discount for each additional family member registered
  • A $10 late fee will be added for any registrations received after the February 28 deadline
  • The philosophy of the program is to teach skills and rules to each player

2018 Adult Softball Coed, Men's and Women's Divisions
Registration is open from April 2-16, 2018
 
  • $360.00 per team for an 8-game schedule. Softball will be provided by the Rec. Dept.
  • Non-resident player fee is $12. A non-resident is a person that does NOT reside OR work within the City of Walker. A letter from your employer is required with registration if you work in Walker.

We LOVE Our Members!

My name is Bill C. I am a 52 year old sales manager for a local business in the Walker area. With my travel schedule and my hour long commute from Kalamazoo each way, I had become sedentary with not much time to move around and exercise. I decided a few months back I had to MAKE time, so I reached out to the good people at Walker Ice and Fitness Center just down the road.
 
Upon joining Walker Fitness Center, I requested help from an on-staff personal trainer for six one-on-one sessions. Joan O. was assigned to me to help begin my journey to better health. Joan is very professional and knowledgeable throughout the initial assessment and goal planning process. We are working together to improve my strength and endurance through a variety of equipment available at the Walker Fitness Center including weight machines, free weights, cardio equipment and work on the mat area.
 
Joan keeps each session motivating and unique while always pushing me to reach the "next level". I am now enjoying my third six session personal training package with Joan. One of the very best personal investment I've ever made.

Help keep our facility clean by not wearing wet shoes/boots into the gym area.  Changing into your workout shoes before entering the gym helps to keep our floors clean and our equipment working well!  Thank you!
