Weekly Update
Hello!
Adult Education Tonight: Annalise Rivas will be leading a discussion on how we can use our "Influence" as good stewards of God's gifts in the Pioneer Parlor at 7pm.
Calling All Bread Makers! We currently have no one signed up to bake bread for Sunday Service for the month of March. If you would like to help, sign up on the volunteer sheet in the Gathering Area or let the office know.
Lenten Soup Suppers
Just a note that we will return to our regularly scheduled Soup Suppers sponsored by church committees during the season of Lent!
Communal Prayer is on Thursday at noon. Come for a short time to sit, pray and reflect in the chapel. This will be a brief time to center yourself and communicate your thoughts and needs to God. It's a wonderful "pick me up" for the week.
“Women’s Retreat: We Are the Body of Christ.” All women in Grades 9 and up as well as their friends and family are invited to attend this retreat on Sat., March 1, from 9:30am – 12:30pm. The Strategic Plan Action Team invites you to a First Forum on Sunday, March 2nd immediately following Worship in the dining room. The action team for "Engaging and Collaborating with the Community" is offering an opportunity for members to discuss the team's work on possibly developing some of the church's vacant land for housing. We will conduct the forum in small discussion groups at tables set up in the dining room. Each table will have a member of the action team to lead the discussion and take notes. We invite all to come and engage in graceful conversations about this issue." - Mary Spear, Facilitator, Strategic Plan Action Team
This Sunday is the first of the five Sundays that First Lutheran will join with organizations and individuals around the state in support of Minnesota Food Share, an effort to gather food and money in order to restock the shelves of local food shelves. You will have several chances to bring donations to church before our "Pack the Pews" event on March 30. Please see Jan Jensen if you need some suggestions. She has a list of items the Food Shelf needs. Thank you for your support!
Classes for Youth in 1st and 2nd Grades who are preparing for their First Holy Communion will be offered starting this Sunday Night at 6pm and on the following Sunday nights: March 9 and 16. A parent/guardian must accompany their child to these classes.
