Other projects across the district include:
-
Creekmoor Elementary: A new playground, upgraded play surfaces, and a new parking lot.
-
Timber Creek Elementary: Upgrades to the intrusion alarm, intercom, and fire alarm systems.
-
East Middle School: A stadium overhaul that includes improved drainage, new curbing, rock placement, and electrical work. New turf will be installed. Paving for the track is scheduled to begin in early July, with rubber surface following later. The entire project will be complete in time for fall sports.
-
Shull Early Learning Center: Exterior work, including painting all metal. Renovation to prepare an additional full-day classroom will also take place.
-
Tennis courts are being constructed just east of the High School. Six courts, complete with accessories and fencing, will be in place for the fall season.
-
Renovation is taking place on the Innovation Center at the Academy building.
Since the passage of Prop S, the District has spent nearly $9 million on the various deferred maintenance projects. This is approximately four times the workload taken on by the District in a typical year. All projects are on schedule and within budget.
Of course, work continues on three major projects:
- The Ray-Pec LEAD Center at M-58 and Foxridge Dr., which is scheduled to open in August.
- The new Ninth Grade Center, located adjacent to East Middle School near M-58 and M-291, which is scheduled to open in August 2023.
- The new Performing Arts Center, which will be located at Ray-Pec High School.
