Students taking the Mechatronics course have been working on solar panel mounts that track and move with the motion of the sun in order to harvest as much energy as possible. Thanks to a generous grant from Infinite Energy and the GCPS Foundation, students were provided customized kits that let them combine elements of mechanical engineering, electronics, and programming through hands-on activities and projects from their homes. The solar panel designs are getting their final nuts and bolts installed and will be put to the test (and on the roof!) over the final weeks of the school year. They will be viewable from classrooms that overlook the roof section above the art patio.

Baccalaureate: May 16th (Virtual)
Baccalaureate is a formal, ceremonial event to honor graduating seniors by celebrating their religion and culture. It is a highly reflective and quiet event that focuses on the graduating class’ personal growth and achievement by essentially providing a blessing to the graduates. This is the first time students will wear their gowns, stoles, and earned honor cords. It will be completely digital as participating seniors will pre-record their videos and send it to us as we compile all of them into one video. This video will be live on YouTube Premiere on May 16th. We are looking for (Senior) students who would like to perform or recite something of their religion to celebrate our graduating seniors. Seniors can sign-up here.

If your student would like to check out books this semester, we are offering curbside pickup DAILY from 8:00-2:30pm. We are also delivering books to classrooms for our face-to-face students.
