Quarter 3 Midway Point
Parents, as we have passed the halfway mark for Q3, please check on your student's course progress. If your student is digital or in-person, please make sure you are checking grades on your parent portal account or your student's portal account.

The quarter will end on March 12th and final exams will take place on March 10th and 11th.
Upcoming Dates

Friday, February 12th, and Monday the 15th are student holidays.
Registration for 2021-22
Elective Registration begins Feb. 22
  • Students will have the opportunity to select their elective courses for the 2021-2022 school year the week of February 22nd-24th through StudentVue. 
  • Students should visit their Curriculum & Instruction eCLASS page to begin viewing their options.
  • Students will not be able to change elective courses so choose carefully.
  • Once Course Requests go live on Feb 22nd both students and parents will be able to see the courses that have been requested for the student through ParentVUE/StudentVUE. 
  • Course requests are the courses that your student is requesting, not their actual schedule. Courses may change if there are conflicts with courses that are requested or classes are full. 

 As a reminder, teachers recommend you for your academic placement; however, students will be able to make changes to your level during the registration week. The change form will be located on our eCLASS page. 

Directions have been posted on how to select your elective courses and make academic changes once registration week opens.  
2021-2022 Programs Still Open

Peer Leadership

This class provides students a framework for understanding the problem-solving process, taking opportunities to participate in meaningful activities that affect our society in positive ways (civic participation), using conflict-resolution skills, learning effective communication skills, adhering to ethical codes of practice, and exercising tolerance and advocacy of others’ rights. Selected students will be assigned to assist off-campus at one of our cluster elementary schools (must provide your own transportation) or on-campus in our special education or ESOL classrooms. Click here to complete the Peer Leadership application.

Gifted Internship

The internship program at Peachtree Ridge is designed to help students culminate their high school journey with real-world experience. The Peachtree Ridge High School Student Internship Program is an opportunity for juniors and seniors in the gifted program to explore careers through unpaid internships. If your student is interested in applying for gifted internship, please fill out this pre-application formIf you have any questions, please email chrissie.bolt@gcpsk12.org.

Work-Based Learning

Work-Based Learning is an opportunity to jump-start your career by having time during the school day to work at a career that you are interested in and develop the tools needed for employment while earning high school credit. If your student is interested in enrolling in the Work-Based Learning Program, have your student go to this eCLASS page to learn more and to find the application.

Business & Technology Office Aide

Business and Technology is the second course in the Business and Technology pathway.  Students who elect to take the course will also be an Office Aide within the school.  While enrolled in the course, you will assist the clerical staff in conjunction with completing the online Business and Technology assignments. Spring Events
Peachtree Ridge High School is moving forward with plans to host Graduation, Prom, and Honors nights in-person. Our Graduation will be at the Gwinnett Arena with the date and time being released in mid-March. Current prom plans include it being hosted outside at Peachtree Ridge High School with tickets only being sold to seniors at a date to be determined. Honors and ROAR night will be hosted at Peachtree Ridge High School with dates to be determined. While we’re excited about potentially hosting these events in-person, we know that they will look significantly different than years past. Additional information will be shared regarding these events throughout the spring semester.
TAP Students when scholarships
Please congratulate Early Childhood Education and Teaching as a Profession (TAP) students Ja'Maya King and Ashley Wilson. Both PRHS education students won scholarships at last night's GCPS Teacher Signing Day event. Ja'Maya earned two scholarships! For the sixth year in a row, Dr. Brimmer's Education Pathway students have taken home scholarships.  
Lion Battalion Cadets
 2nd Place
Please congratulate our Lions Battalion cadets on a 2nd place finish at this Saturday's Stockbridge High School NJROTC Area 12 Sanctioned Drill Meet with 12 high schools participating. Our cadets earned a qualifying seat at the FL/GA State Regional Championship. We are proud of the cadets; they represented with the utmost professionalism this weekend.

RBES Parent Survey
Available Now
Due to the pandemic, GCPS is administering a contactless version of the RBES Parent Survey this year. There will be no paper or school computer option. Instead, SchoolMessenger will deliver an email invitation to families to complete a survey for each school at which they have one or more enrolled students. The confidential survey will be available in English, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese. The survey can only be accessed using the link and unique code provided in the SchoolMessenger email. The RBES Parent Survey will be available from now through February 26. Your participation helps us to continuously improve our school. Thank you in advance for making your voice heard!

Informational Meeting
We will have a virtual Informational Dual Enrollment meeting Wednesday, February 24th at 5 pm. Please join us if you are interested in participating in Dual Enrollment classes during the 21/22 school year. Important: even if you plan on taking Dual Enrollment classes you need to register for a full class load at PRHS, your schedule will be adjusted after you are registered for your college class.

Open House - February 11
Our Open House will be virtual for students wishing to learn more about our programs. It is scheduled for February 11, 2021, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Students may attend the Zoom session for any program(s) they have an interest in.

Schroeder State Champion in Butterfly
Please congratulate Tyler Schroeder, state champion in the men's 100 butterfly! Tyler swam fast, out-touching his rival by .02, getting his revenge from last year's loss by .01. Tyler also set a new school record in the 50 free as the lead-off in the 200 Free Relay. Overall, the boys finished in 10th place. It was a fun, fast evening of swim!

Soccer Boys: Super Six Selections
Please congratulate Senior Nick Kosut and Junior Rio Onwumere as they have been selected 2021 Gwinnett Daily Post Super Six! It's the first time Boys Soccer has showcased two of the six selections! Both are Team Captains for us and very talented young men and soccer players. Shout-outs in the article to Lisa York and Christine Wahl as the boys' favorite teachers.

It is time to order your Senior’s cap and gown for graduation! Please submit your student’s information using this Cap and Gown form. Please submit this information only once. A cap and gown must be ordered for every graduating Senior. 
The deadline for submission is Friday, February 12, 2021. This is time-sensitive and this deadline will not be extended!
