GCPS Curriculum Review
Staff, parents, students, and community members are invited to review and provide input on proposed curriculum resources for three high school courses—Portuguese I, Forest Science, and Natural Resources Management, starting Feb. 12. Additional resources for select courses will be added March 1. The virtual public review of all resources will run through March 12. Before adopting instructional resources for classroom use, Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) holds an extensive review with multiple stakeholders. Data from the reviews and a pilot with students will be considered in making adoption recommendations to the Board of Education. To begin the review, please visit this link. One Act Play: State Runner Up
Congratulations to the One Act Play. They are the State Runner Up Champions. Wes Nickell was named best actor for the State. See the GHSA announcement here.
Festival Of Nations- Online
Festival of Nations will be occurring this year - online! The event will be hosted through Youtube Premiere and will occur on April 2nd, 2021 from 6PM to 8PM. For this event to run smoothly, we need the enthusiasm and participation we've had in previous years from students. Sign-Ups are out now and can be found on our Festival of Nations Website! The deadline for signing up will be this Sunday, February 28th. We hope to see you there!
Lions Battalion’s 2nd Place: Headed to National Regional Championships

Lions Battalion Cadets finished 2nd place at Sprayberry High School NJROTC Area 12 Sanctioned Drill Meet earning nine trophies. This is the Lions Battalion’s 2nd consecutive 2nd place finish at an Area 12 Sanctioned Drill Meet this season against 26 NJROTC High Schools. We are so very proud of these cadets, they presented themselves with the utmost professionalism this weekend. Lions Battalion is headed to Lee County HS for Area 12 National Regional Championships on March 6th!
Highlights include:
  • Joyce Lu: Personnel inspection CDR (commander), Armed Exhibition CDR 2nd place overall, Armed basic CDR, Athletic commander, 105 push-ups 1st, 2nd place Color Guard
  • Autumn Hester: Unarmed Exhibition CDR 3rd place, Unarmed Basic drill team CDR, 2nd place Color Guard
  • Samuel Santos: Color Guard Commander 2nd place, 1st place athletics overall
  • Stanley Lal: 1st place athletics, 146 push-ups 1st
  • Jordan Antwi: 1st place athletics, 315 sit-ups 2nd
  • Brittany Hester: 1st place athletics overall, 304 sit-ups 3rd
  • Kendalyn McBride: 1st place athletics overall, 2nd 16x100 relay
  • Caleb McBride: 1st place athletics, 2nd 16x100 relay

RBES Parent Survey
Last chance!
Due to the pandemic, GCPS is administering a contactless version of the RBES Parent Survey this year. There will be no paper or school computer option. Instead, SchoolMessenger will deliver an email invitation to families to complete a survey for each school at which they have one or more enrolled students. The confidential survey will be available in English, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese. The survey can only be accessed using the link and unique code provided in the SchoolMessenger email. The RBES Parent Survey will be available through February 26. Your participation helps us to continuously improve our school. Thank you in advance for making your voice heard!

Girls and Boys Basketball 2nd in Region

Blue Pride 6th in State
Please congratulate our Varsity Blue Pride team as they competed hard and placed 6th at the state cheerleading championships! It was a very challenging year, and this team stuck together and competed through the multitude of circumstances thrown at us. 
Girls Golf: Three Super Six Selections
Please congratulate Bridget Hoang, Yedam Lee, and Stacy Yoon for this prestigious honor! Also, special recognition to Christopher Smith and Nelson Dean for being selected as their favorite teachers. 
Girls Golf: 1st at Lady Wolves Invitational
Girls golf team played in their first tournament of the year at Bear's Best over the weekend. That course is very challenging brings the best of the best to the tournament. Well, our Peachtree Ridge Girls team went out and WON THE WHOLE THING!!  Bridget and Yedam finished tied for 2nd overall and thanks to a "scorecard playoff" they finished 3rd place overall.  
Boys Golf: Abdow takes Low Medalist at Lanier Invitational
Congratulate Billy Abdow, in his first ever high school golf tournament, shot a 4 under (-4) to take the low medalist (lowest score for an individual player) at TPC Sugarloaf. With their combined effort Billy became the 1st Boys Peachtree Ridge golfer to be low medalist in a tournament in almost a decade!
South Asian Student Association
The South Asian Student Association will be meeting via zoom on Tuesday, March 16th at 2:20pm. Link to the zoom can be found on our club page on the school website.
Winter Color Guard: 1st Place
The 2021 PRHS Winter Guard takes 1st place at their season opener (virtual streamed). This puts them one step closer to South Eastern Championships in April! Congratulate these hard-working performers if you see them!

Senior Yard Sign Pick-up March 2
The next round of yard sign pick-ups will be on Tuesday, March 2nd, from 10am - 1pm at the front of the school. We have processed nearly 600 signs so far and if there are in-person students that have not picked up their sign, chances are that their sign is in the theater.

Senior Cap and Gown Portrait time is here! Seniors are able to take their Cap and Gown Portraits on Tuesday, March 9th and Wednesday, March 24 from 2:45-5pm in the HUB at Peachtree Ridge High School. More information can be found on the Peachtree Ridge Senior Webpage (red button above).
