Let's look ahead to getting together!
Summertime Cycling
We return to North Carolina this year, where the ocean breezes are calling! At a time when the weather has warmed, but the tourists have not yet arrived, we will traverse the length of these barrier islands.
Straddling the US and Canadian border, this regions’ lightly traveled roads create a perfect setting for cycling through the Rockies. Immersed in some of North America’s most breathtaking, jaw-dropping alpine majesty are quiet resort towns, wine producing valleys, hot springs and endless waterways.
The world class ski resort area of Sun Valley, Idaho provides a multitude of avenues for diversion. On this tour we will experience paved bike trails, mountain hikes, a trip to the otherworldly lava fields of Craters of the Moon National Monument, a rafting excursion down the Salmon River, and a grand cycling climb over Galena Pass, topping out at 8701 feet. If you like variety, this is your tour!
Summertime Hiking
As the tallest mountain in the range of Cascade volcanoes, Mt Rainier retains its blanket of snow year round. The run off feeds the incredible array of wildflowers, and the park, which surrounds the peak, has well maintained hiking trails across numerous ecosystems. We explore moderate trails on all sides of the mountain.
July 18 - 23, 2021
Lassen Volcanic National Park contains the southernmost volcano in the Cascade range. It last erupted in 1917, but its geothermal activity continues, creating a surreal atmosphere to explore. Our summer tour explores all sides of the park including a climb to the summit of Lassen, and stops at the Sulphur Works, Bumpass Hell, Cinder Cone and Summit Lake.
August 4 - 10, 2021
Isle Royale National Park is situated on a small island in the middle of Lake Superior. Supporting no roads, there are instead 165 miles of extraordinary hiking trails. The single lodge overlooks the lake in a sheltered cove. A bonus day in Michigan's Upper Peninsula amid the colorful Pictured Rocks starts the tour, before traveling by boat to the park that is home to moose, wolves, loons, beaver, fox and copious bird life.
Through the end of 2020, reservations can be secured with only a $200 down payment. This reservation will be fully refundable until 3 months before the tour departure. At that time, the remaining $300 deposit will be due and our regular cancellation policy will be in effect.
