Dear FPA Metro NY Members,
As we begin 2026, I'm excited to reflect on a highly successful 2025 and share what lies ahead for our chapter. Last year delivered exceptional programming and engagement, setting a strong foundation for the year ahead.
2025 brought several standout moments for our chapter. Our joint Hudson River cruise with the New Jersey chapter was an unforgettable evening of building relationships in a spectacular setting. Our Succession Summit at Hudson Yards provided critical insights into growing and transitioning your practice, and our media day at Yahoo Finance headquarters offered valuable perspectives on the financial media landscape.
These events exemplified a great year of engagement from our chapter members, and planning by our board of volunteers. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all the members and sponsors who attended events and supported our chapter throughout 2025. Your participation and commitment drive everything we accomplish as an organization. We look forward to seeing you throughout 2026.
This year promises another strong calendar of educational, social, in-person, and virtual programming. Our virtual Super CE Days will return in late April, offering complimentary CFP CE credits (including Ethics!) to our members. Coming just next month, please join us for our Kickoff Happy Hour at Sir Henry's on Thursday, February 12th. This event is an excellent opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and discuss the year ahead. We'll also be hosting a New Member Breakfast on Wednesday, March 4th – a great chance to welcome new faces to the FPA community and form new relationships.
I encourage you to watch for our event emails throughout the year and check the calendar on our chapter website regularly for upcoming meetings and programming details.
Lastly, as we transition into 2026, I want to recognize Eli Bauer who will be stepping down from the board after doing an outstanding job leading our Next Gen initiative over the past few years. His contributions have significantly strengthened our chapter, and we're grateful for his dedication.
I'm pleased to welcome three amazing new board members joining us this year: Uliana Michaelis, Igor Aronov, and Martin Tischler. Their fresh perspectives and expertise will be valuable assets as we continue building our chapter. I am also very excited that Annie Van Pilsum-Johnson will be stepping into the President Elect role, to take over leadership of the chapter in 2027!
