President's Letter

Dear FPA Metro NY Members,

As we reach the midpoint of 2025, I'm thrilled to reflect on a great year so far and share what lies ahead for our chapter. The energy and engagement from our membership continues to exceed expectations, and I'm excited to keep the momentum going into the second half of the year.

Our February kickoff happy hour drew our largest crowd for a social event since I've been involved with the chapter, which speaks to the appetite for in-person connection within our community. Our April Super CE Day delivered great educational content, and our recent media event at Yahoo Finance headquarters offered members valuable insights into the media industry and marketing.

To those who have participated in our events this year – your engagement makes a real difference in building our professional community. For members who haven't yet joined us, there are several worthwhile opportunities coming up that we'd love to see you attend!

I hope you'll join the FPA Metro NY NexGen community on June 24th, from 5:30-7:30PM for a roundtable on the current real estate market. Presented by Gabi Feuer and The Mark Maimon Team at Luminate Bank, real estate pros and advisors will discuss market and mortgage trends. Bring your questions—whether it's about co-op deals or creative financing. This is a great chance to get expert insights and add value to your practice and clients.

I'm excited for what promises to be an unforgettable evening cruise down the Hudson River on July 17th, from 4:30-9PM. This marks our first joint event with the New Jersey chapter, offering an opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the region in a truly spectacular setting. Whether you're catching up with longtime friends or making new professional connections, this event promises to be both memorable and meaningful. Looking into the fall, we're honored to host our Succession Summit at BlackRock's impressive new Hudson Yards world headquarters on September 10th. This event will provide critical insights into practice transitions and succession planning – topics that are increasingly vital to our profession's future.

Over the next few months our board will also be dedicating time to strategic planning for 2026. If you're interested in taking a more active role in shaping our chapter's future, I encourage you to reach out about board opportunities. Your fresh perspectives and expertise could be exactly what we need to continue our upward trajectory. I also want to again acknowledge our current board members, whose consistent volunteer efforts keep our chapter functioning effectively. Their work behind the scenes enables everything we accomplish as an organization.

The remainder of 2025 promises to be filled with outstanding programming and meaningful connections. I look forward to seeing many of you at these upcoming events as we continue to advance our profession together.
