Making Our Community Stronger
Dear Friend of Yachad,

We are pleased to share our 2018 Annual Report with you. This past year saw Yachad’s touch points within the community continue to expand as we branched out to provide services in more ways.

While our commitment is still to preserve existing housing through direct repairs, we are continuing to work with the D.C. Department of Energy & Environment to provide emergency heating, cooling, and other energy efficiency measures. We are partnering with the D.C. Healthy Housing Collaborative and Children’s National Health System to address asthma and other health-related problems triggered by substandard housing conditions. We are beginning work with the D.C. Attorney General’s Office to expand our service footprint by addressing dangerous housing conditions in small multi-family buildings that are in court-ordered receivership.

As pressure on the affordable housing stock in Washington, D.C. continues, due to gentrification and other factors, Yachad continues to respond in creative and collaborate ways to address the need for safe and healthy housing.

Please know that the work we do is still wholly dependent on the time and money donated for these important issues. I hope you’ll keep Yachad in your financial plans as you make decisions about charitable giving in the second half of this year.
