Looking Forward: A New Look for Clarity HMIS this Fall!

HMIS User Notice

Applies to: ALL HMIS USERS

Effective Date: October 1, 2026

We are excited to announce that on October 1st, LAHSA’s HMIS will be transitioning to a new Clarity user interface.

Why the change?

This interface has been redesigned with you in mind. It brings a modern look, faster performance, and more intuitive navigation to streamline your daily workflows and make managing your data easier than ever. The enhancement is designed to simplify common tasks, reduce clicks, and manage client data more efficiently.

Take a Peek!

Curious about the look and feel of the new interface? You can check it out through this Sneak Peek video from Bitfocus: click here to view the video.

Important Timeline:

  • No immediate action is required from users. The current interface will remain fully functional as we prepare for the update.

  • In mid-September, we will offer New Interface Orientation sessions, so you can explore the new interface with our HMIS trainers. We'll send out registration links later this month.

  • Beginning October 1, 2026, the Basic Navigation Training Series (BNTS) will be offered as a virtual, instructor-led certification course. This live, virtual course will be offered weekly from October into early 2027. As we build out the new BNTS eLearning course. As we build out the new BNTS eLearning course, the previous BNTS eLearning course will no longer be available as of October 1, 2026.

  • Because BNTS is a required certification for all new HMIS users, this change may require organizations to plan onboarding around the weekly live training schedule. While this introduces additional scheduling considerations, the new instructor-led course will provide a more interactive learning experience, opportunities to ask questions in real time, and a shorter training duration compared to the current on-demand self-paced course.

What to Look Out for:

Early Access

Are you interested in receiving early access to the new HMIS interface and providing feedback on your experience to the HMIS Training Team? If so, please email hmissupport@lahsa.org.

Thank you for your continued hard work and dedication to our community!

Best regards,

LAHSA’s HMIS Team
