During this coronavirus pandemic, USTA Kentucky staff and board have been very busy advocating for tennis, creating and promoting assistance programs and working to develop new initiatives.  
All of these efforts have the like goal of fulfilling our mission to promote and develop the growth of tennis!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ELIZABETHTOWN GRAD

The Southern Tennis Foundation (STF) announced the establishment of the Mildred F. Southern Academic Excellence Award for two of the foundation's annual college scholarships. 
Elizabethtown's Anastasia Newsome was one of the two inaugural award recipients.   READ MORE  


THANKS TO ALL WHO DONATED!

T wenty-seven KY tennis industry individuals (teaching pros and officials) have been awarded funds totaling $9,000. Over $6,000  has been donated, and a $5,000 donation match from Raise a Racquet.   READ MORE  to donate or apply for assistance.


SOUTHERN CARES FACILITY ASSISTANCE - APPLY NOW

Southern Cares Facility Assistance is now accepting applications with a deadline of May 29.   APPLY

Southern CARES Teaching Pro Grant, which has closed, served  19 Kentucky teaching pros to date.
 

NATIONAL FACILITY RECOVERY GRANT

The National Facility Recovery Grant is open until June 12.   APPLY

Fourteen Kentucky facilities have applied.  Facilities can apply for both the Southern and National assistance.

GREAT NEWS

We are working on plans to resume play locally with state Championships! Plans will be finalized as soon as possible so watch for communications from your local league coordinators.
COVID-19 UPDATE FROM USTA NATIONAL
 
Due to the continued situation surrounding the COVID-19 virus, and after discussions with the USTA Medical Advisory Committee, effective immediately the USTA will extend the suspension of USTA sanctioned products and events through May 31.  READ MORE

BUILD IT FORWARD GRANT

USTA Southern has opened registration for grant applications for the Build It Forward initiative. $500K has been made available to build or reconstruct tennis courts. There is no deadline, as funds will be available until exhausted.
