Looking Forward the Holidays

We successfully finished our  Back to School campaign by delivering more than 2000 backpacks, and now we are gearing up our planning for the holiday season.

During Thanksgiving, we will start our Food Basket initiatives where we deliver food for those who are in need the most around the world. We are working with local contacts to help children of Afghanistan, Cambodia, Myanmar, Syria, and Uganda, and will inform you of our plans in upcoming weeks.

The winter Holidays are also not that far away and that's when we need your help the most. Since nearly one-third of all charitable giving is done in the month of December, we are counting on you to make this year-en
d campaign the most successful one that we have ever had. You can help us by introducing Child Foundation to your friends and colleagues and inviting them to participate in our end-of-the-year campaign or help us in our annual Toy-Drive in different cities.

Since our local work in Iran and Afghanistan has been vastly expanded, we have received more files of children who have been identified as high achi evers but are in need of financial assistance. Please take the time to visit our children's waiting list to read about them and let  your friends and colleagues know about the amazing support you are giving your sponsored child or children.
As we expand our humanitarian work, we are in need of more of your financial assistance, and as the holiday season approaches, we  hope you will consider sharing your generosity with Child Foundation as one o f your trusted charities. Please donate here to help .

Auditing Operation, Visiting Children

As mentioned in our last newsletter, Mr. Eshghi, our Director of Administration and Accountant, finished annual auditing of the local operations by visiting Tehran's office.

The auditing was done according to generally accepted auditing standards by obtaining reasonable assurance about financial statements, children monthly allowances, and other related documents. It included a random examination of evidence supporting of the amounts of disbursed funds and additional disclosures. As part of this auditing, we choose a number of children randomly that Mr. Eshghi visited to ensure that donations we provided had been correctly delivered.

The final reconciliation of the audit will be presented to the CEO and the Board and recorded per our annual protocols.

Mr. Eshghi visited fifteen children in cities of Gharchak,  Kashan, Robat Karin, Tehran,  Varamin, and Zahedan. He said all of these visits made him very emotional, specially when he interviewed the children. A few of his interviews can be heard here and here.

We are very proud of local operations in different cities of Iran. The number of children supported by monthly educational scholarship had passed 9,600, and we hope to see this number reach 10,000 before the year's end. To help us get to this new record, please visit our children's waiting list here.
My Name is Nima & I love School
I became disabled when I was 8 years old due to Muscular dystrophy. I have not been able to walk since and use wheelchairs.

Unfortunately, this is a genetic disease, and my younger brother also has Muscular dystrophy. Our medical problems forced our father to move the family from our small town to Tabriz where he does labor job.My mother has a spinal disc herniation, but she has to take care of us. Moving us around has been a significant challenge for her. We live in a small apartment, and we are in a deep debt of the mortgage.

My parents have a hard time to afford our health care costs, mortgage payments and other living expenses. Despite all these difficulties and disabilities, I am studying hard, and I am considered a very talented. I need your support to be able to continue his education.

Please consider supporting this young student so that he may continue to attend school by clicking here
We Still Need YOUR Help

Yes, we need your help for a couple of our upcoming projects just in time for the holiday season. You can help us launch one or both of them in the city you live.
  1. Children Painting Exhibition: In association with HEART (Health, Earth, Art) Organization, we are working on a painting exhibition as a part of the 3rd International Festival of Paintings for Pediatric Patients in Kharkiv, Ukraine. You can help us in organizing a simultaneous exhibition in your city. If you work in a hospital or any center that provides services to children, you can help us. Just drop us an e-mail or call our office and we will send you all the information you need to start working on this.

  2. Toy-Drive for Holidays: For the last few years we have held Toy-drives in Boston, Los Angeles, and here in Portland. Now we are ready to expand this beautiful cause to other cities. It is not as complicated as you may think, all we need are some volunteers with big hearts who are willing to spend a few quality hours outreaching, collecting and dropping off toys. If you are interested in having this fabulous event in your area please send us an email and we will guide you every step of the way to have a successful event that creates happiness for many children in hospitals.

Hi, I'm Fatemeh!

I am an eleven-year-old girl from the city of Kermanshah. I am a smart and talented student currently studying in sixth grade. I enjoy studying and also loves sports and have won many medals in Shotokan Karate. I live with her mother in a small house with only one room and minimal belongings.

My father used to be a driver and made very little money to support our family. Unfortunately, he got involved with a dangerous situation involving a robbery which ended in the death of the owner. He was imprisoned and sentenced to death.

I live with my mother now alone, and our only source of income is the small amount of donation they receive from a charity organization, but this is not nearly enough to provide for their basic daily needs let alone my educational costs.

I need your help to continue my education and work towards a better and brighter future.
