Looking Forward to a Great Year!

This coming Tuesday our Vestry will meet and it will be the last time that this group will gather in its current configuration since some will be completing their terms and new members will begin their ministry after the Annual Meeting on the 26th.  One of the top agenda items will be finalizing the annual budget which has been a labor of love for our ministry leaders and  finance committee with close consultation from our stewardship committee and staff.  In anticipation of all the wonderful things we will be able to accomplish together in the year ahead, I want to thank you for your 2020 financial stewardship pledge.

Holy Spirit has been growing for a few years now.  We have new members and new babies, we have new programs and new events, and we have new ways of serving our neighbors through outreach. We have amazing lay leadership who have led with vision and hope. We have been blessed to have such wonderful supporting clergy and I am grateful for John and Dale's ongoing work at Holy Spirit.  I am also excited to share that as stewardship went so well, Korey and his family will be staying at Holy Spirit beyond the diocesan 2 year program for curates.  Korey's curacy ends in July and he will officially become the Assistant Rector to be with us longer.

Your support and participation matters.  Because of you, we can continue to expand our ministry both in programing and those we seek to reach in West Houston who don't yet have a church home.  God has blessed all of us with an abundance and in giving back we have much to be excited about together.  We do have some programs and ministries that still need some development and we can't wait to explore how best to fill those gaps.  We still have much we can do, so if you have not yet pledged, it isn't too late!  All in all, this is going to be a great year through God's grace and your participation.  Thank you and may God bless us all in this year of shared ministry!

See you in church,

Monday Mah-Jongg
Most Mondays, 2pm -  4:30pm
Kick off - January 13th

Whether you've always wanted to learn or are looking for a group, you are welcome to join us in the Narthex as we kickoff a new year of Holy Spirit's Monday Mah Jongg. We play most Mondays that aren't holidays. However, we don't mind if you need to miss occasionally. We only ask that you RSVP so we know how many players to expect each week.

During our first two sessions in January, Nancy Moody will teach anyone joining our group who would like to learn to play. We follow American National Mah-Jongg League rules and standards. (Due to Diocesan regulation, we will award daily points for hands instead of exchanging money).

If you are planning to join us in January, or have questions, please contact Nancy Moody at or (713) 858-7395 or Evelyn Snow at or (281) 755-2468
