Investing in the Next Generation
When we built the Calvary Life Center ten years ago, we chose Psalm 78:4–7 as a foundational Scripture. Our focus was on the next generation. As we began to pray, discuss, and plan for an expansion to provide first-class facilities for our children and students, some people said that the older generation would not contribute since the building was not for them! I praise God that was not the case. Such was the generosity and enthusiasm of the congregation that all of the needed funds were contributed for the Life Center without Calvary paying one cent in loan interest. This was the investment of Calvary in the next generation! The result is that thousands of children and students have been impacted by the Gospel of Jesus Christ through a decade of ministry.

“Invest in the Next Generation” is one of our themes for 2022. Another manifestation of our continuing commitment to the next generation is Calvary Christian Academy which opens on Wednesday, August 17. At the worship service this Sunday, you will hear about the background and vision of CCA, and we will dedicate the staff and the school to the glory of God. We praise our great God and celebrate the marvelous things He has done and is doing!

At the beginning of Covid, we strengthened our hearts by remembering that “The Word of God is not bound” (2 Timothy 2:9). Our commitment to the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ continues “that the next generation might know them (the Gospel and the Word of God), the children yet unborn and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments” (Psalm 78:6–7).
