FROM THE SENIOR PASTOR
A Message from Jesus
Over the last several days, I have been praying as to what I should preach on this Sunday. After thinking through various possibilities, I have decided to continue the series in Matthew. This Sunday, we begin the Sermon on the Mount. In the middle of the coronavirus crisis, it will greatly benefit all of us to sit at the feet of Jesus and humbly learn what are to be the heart “attitudes” of His disciples.

Do let everyone know that we are livestreaming at Calvary at 9:45 AM on Sunday. We can’t have more than 10 people present. So with our technical staff handling sound, cameras, and lighting, there will be a very small group on the platform! But I assure you the worship will glorify God.

On Wednesday at 7:00 PM, I am going to have a Facebook Live from my study at home. I will share some of the reasons why my study is so meaningful to me. Then we will consider some Scriptures together at this time of forced isolation!

If we can be of any help to you, or if you have any specific prayer requests, don’t hesitate to let us know.

Warmly in Christ,
Pastor John H. Munro

Unite in Prayer
As we face a "Stay at Home" mandate in Mecklenburg County for several weeks, and we see the many needs facing our country and world during this pandemic — let's turn our eyes and our hearts toward Jesus and unite in prayer for:

  • Those who are sick — battling coronavirus or other illness
  • Those in hospitals & clinics — doctors, nurses, staff & patients
  • Medical professionals working toward a vaccine & treatment
  • Calvary senior adults and all the elderly at risk in our community
  • Our shut-ins and those in assisted living & long term care facilities
  • All leaders and governing authorities
  • Those facing loss of jobs, closed businesses, & economic hardship
  • Those who are lonely or afraid
  • Families facing disruption of home life, school & work routines

Please pray that our Heavenly Father will extend His loving protection and kind provision to all those in need of healing, comfort, and encouragement.

As we take all the necessary precautions, let's also reach out to our family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to check on them by phone, email, or text message. See if you can help with an errand, pray with them, and share the love of Christ with all. Remember — Pray without ceasing!
