It is often said that the Word of God is both timeless and timely. It is timeless as it comes from the eternal God; it is timely because that which is eternal is always relevant. So "the grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever" (Isaiah 40:8).
Studying the Gospel of Matthew over the past many months has been very encouraging! We have seen how relevant the Word of God is to our present circumstances. This Sunday will be no exception! In Matthew 14, the disciples are fearful. Their crisis was not a pandemic, but it directly impacted them. From God’s Word on Sunday, we will learn how to survive in a crisis.
The people of God look up beyond the difficult circumstances of our present lives. Not only is Jesus with us, He loves us, helps us, and has promised He will never leave us.
