FROM THE SENIOR PASTOR

God as Father

Many of us are proud to have been born into a particular family and culture. I am certainly in that category and am profoundly thankful for the home into which I was born. I always experienced the deep love of my parents and never doubted that I was wanted, loved, and cared for. Yet, I realize some of you were not born into such loving families. Some may never have known who their father was.

Irrespective of these human relationships, the joy and privilege of being part of the family of God far outweigh any human relationships. Through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we are now children of God and address God as “our Father.” The apostle Peter refers to calling on God as Father. On Sunday, we will explore some of the implications of this.

I trust you experienced a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday! Join me in thanking our Heavenly Father for His great love in saving us and bringing us into His eternal family.

Pastor John H. Munro
