I have mentioned the Calvary pastoral team over the last couple of weeks. Now I come to the three wise men!
Jim Cashwell joined the pastoral team in 2009 as Pastor of Missions. For over two years, he left our team to serve as the area director of Joni & Friends, an international ministry to people with disabilities. During that time, he continued to be a member of Calvary. He then returned as Pastor of Missions. Since the beginning of this year, Jim has served Calvary as Executive Pastor. He is married to Anna. They have six adult children: Josh, Jared, Jake, Rachel, Rebekah, and Sam. They also have five grandchildren: Olive, Theo, Evie, Snyder, and Ellie. Jim and Anna love to travel, walk, have beach vacations with their family, and enjoy watching Tar Heel sports! Some of their time is spent trying to train their untrainable dog, Buddy.
Tim Hathaway has been on our pastoral team since 2006. He continues to serve as Pastor of Worship. Tim is married to Vicki, and they have three adult daughters: Courtney, Chelsea, and Colby. They are proud grandparents of Henry, Miles, Auburn, and Maggie. Tim and Vicki enjoy spending time with their family in Charlotte and at the beach. They love travel, reading, golf, tennis, and all sports teams from their native Ohio.
I was called as Senior Pastor in 2006 and continue to be passionate about being a preacher of grace and a shepherd of souls. I am married to Gudny. We have one son, Christopher, who died in April 2021 from COVID-19. Our three grandchildren who live in Lancaster, SC, are Alex (17), Ian (14), and Kera (13). Gudny and I love travel, the beach, cruises, visiting our homelands of Scotland and the Faroe Islands, reading, and walking. I enjoy watching soccer as Gudny cooks and cleans the house!
All of our pastors are privileged to serve at Calvary and are committed to our mission of “being and making authentic followers of Jesus Christ.”
