Dear William Paterson Community,

The people have spoken, and Donald J. Trump will be our next president. As with all elections, there are members of our community who stood on both sides of the political contest. While it is a great privilege to learn, work, and, for some, live within a diverse community, it can also, at times, be a challenge to support one another when diverging views come into play. 

It is my hope that we remember we are all Pioneers. Let us focus on those strengths that have allowed us to flourish while we continue to do the good work of learning and educating the next generation within this diverse community that we cherish. Hug someone who needs it, congratulate someone who worked hard for the victory, and do things that bring you comfort, joy, and perspective in the comings days. 

No matter which party occupies the White House or any other political office, we will remain steadfast in our values, true to our mission, and continue to educate the people who are changing the social fabric of our state, region, and country. William Paterson remains a Powerhouse of Progress.
