Wishing you good times, good cheer
and a memorable new year.

End of Year Letter from NODCC Board President

On behalf of the NODCC, we are grateful for our 2019 accomplishments. Thank you to all who participated in our online fundraisers, held local events or donated in other ways. The NODCC office has directly served hundreds of families this year. We aligned with AusDoCC and Corpal for DCC Awareness Day in July to spread a consistent message about disorders of the corpus callosum (DCC) worldwide. Through Olam’s Piggybank, funded by the Rumberg Foundation, the NODCC awarded 10 grants to NODCC families during 2019.

During this year, the Board of Directors have been focused on defining programs to improve the quality of life of our disorders of the corpus callosum population (one in 2,000 births). The result has been a new fundraising brochure, an increased focus on the post high school population at conference and a major proposal to the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to encourage research on effective interventions to improve quality of life of our DCC population and their families. Although we just learned that our application will not be funded, we will continue to search for the funds. There were over 300 applications to the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and only ten planned awards. We encourage you to visit the NODCC website ( www.nodcc.org ) and consider a tax-deductible donation to help us continue to help families.

We are excited for 2020 as we prepare for the NODCC Family Conference in Frisco, Texas just north of Dallas. The conference will be in a large conference center on June 26-28 and is expected to be our largest ever. We hope to see many of you there or hear from you on Facebook , Twitter , email, Eblast, or by phone.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Lynn Snyder, Board President
