Working together, we accomplished a lot in 2022. Now we look to the future. To planning and preparing for the 2023 peak fire season. To rolling out historic investments in wildland stewardship, forest restoration and fuels treatments. And to working with you to create a more resilient California. To get there, we closed out 2022 by reflecting on where we've been as we plan for the coming year.

Grant funding available for tribal stewardship, shaded playgrounds, forest restoration projects, and more.
Approximately $19 million is available to support tribal partners in launching wildfire resilience and other stewardship projects. More than $100 million is dedicated to shading school playgrounds for future generations. Financial support for increasing the health, restoration and resilience of California's forests is open this month. Fire Safe County Coordinator grants have also been announced, along with many others. And these are just a few of the goals and benefits that our partnership grant programs provide. Incidents ranged from wildland fires, structure fires, automobile collisions, medical aids, rescues of all types, floods, hazmat spills, and more. This remarkable response reinforces CAL FIRE's commitment to being an all-hazard department ready to respond to any emergency.
