Greetings!

Soon we will be "falling back" on our clock settings.  Being an early riser for work I am fascinated with how much the sunrise is changing these past few weeks.  I hope everyone is getting their children off to school without any hitches.  That first week or two is always rough. This newsletter we are featuring Dr. H. Lee Adkin's practice. He is a well-known and established family medicine physician in our community.  If you are in need of a family medicine doctor, consider giving his office a call.  He offers a direct primary care service contract which reestablishes the patient doctor contract, rather than someone's insurance company dictating who you can see.

At our recent IPALC board meeting it was decided that we plan a phone operator service so that interested patients can call an operator for assistance in getting an Independent physician. We will send out a notice to our newsletter list once this is up and running.  Going to the emergency room for your doctor's referral is not a good plan.  One of the most expensive health care mistakes people make is not having a primary physician.  If you don't have a main doctor to call upon, I highly recommend you find one.  A simple medical problem like a urinary tract infection could cost you hundreds if not thousands of dollars if handled through our local emergency room. It will be 8-10 times less if done in a normal office setting.
