marks the 1 year anniversary of
Dr. Maryam Mirzakhani
passing. Maryam, a mathematician and graduate of Sharif University of Technology and Harvard University, was the only woman to receive the Fields Medal, the most prestigious award in mathematics. She was a professor at Stanford University and only 40 years old when she lost her battle with breast cancer.
At Maryam’s funeral, her father
Mr. Ahmad Mirzakhani, said
:
“There are thousands of Maryams in small villages who need to be discovered."
This is what Child Foundation is actively pursuing, finding high achiever students who are in need of financial assistance and provide them with a scholarship. We believe poverty should not be an obstacle for the education of a devoted and motivated student.

Why we need you NOW more than Ever!

As you may be aware, it’s a time of economic difficulty for many living in Iran. Due to the recent hike in the US Dollar and devaluation of Iranian Rial, not only have the price of goods increased, but it has affected the income of many.
In response to these recent changes, the Child Foundation’s sister organization in Iran has increased scholarship funding for the children we are supporting by matching the family’s’ level of income to the new unprecedented inflation. As a result, many local sponsors are facing financial challenges and many have informed our Tehran office that they can no longer afford to support their children.
The Child Foundation is turning to our community to help us in sponsoring a child today. We’ve received a new list of bright and motivated children who need small financial assistance.
For less than the price of a cup of coffee per day, you can help support them in becoming successful members of society.
When you

to sponsor a student, we will provide you with his/her additional information, photos, and every six months we will send you a detailed progress report along with additional pictures and letters.

Mobina is a 15 years old girl from Varamin. She is incredibly talented with a GPA of 19.71 (out of 20) last year. Her family, along with thousands of families, have been victims of social harm. She currently lives with her sister and mother in small old house and has been deprived of her father’s support. Mobina is very interested in learning English and attends classes with her sister. Their mother does her best to afford the cost of living and their education, but her limited income is not enough for all the costs.
With your support, Mobina can overcome all obstacles and become a successful woman.
By having continued access to these education opportunities, She can become an independent and self-confident woman that makes her life and the life of others around her more beautiful.
After reviewing Mobina’s motives, interests, and talents, and considering the family’s financial situation, the Child Foundation has awarded Mobina a monthly scholarship of US $52.

Abolfazl is a 9 year old boy from Shahrkord. He is a very talented student who has displayed a lot of promise in school. Albofazi’s family live in a worn house and struggle with financial problems as his father has heart disease and cannot work. His mother part-time service jobs and limited income are not enough to support the living expenses and Abolfazl’s education costs.
Abolfazl has goals of being an empowered and knowledgeable man and dreams of overcoming adversity to help his family and community.

After a treacherous journey, thousands of families seeking asylum have seen their children forcefully taken from the arms once they have reached the U.S. border.
