Enriching Social Lives for a Lifetime
Colin's Summer Slam and Lodge Fest:
A Weekend to Remember!

Thank you to everyone who made Colin's Summer Slam and Lodge Fest a HUGE Success! Special thanks to Teddi Connor and Colin who arranged and planned for all the fun. Our members walked through the front door excited to get on the court. This excitement lasted through FIVE hours of fun with friends! Saturday welcomed the members again with all smiles, hard work and FUN!
To finish off the weekend, members and families gathered together once more to enjoy live music, good food and dancing at Lodge Fest held at JD Legends. The venue was packed from start to finish. Families were able to watch members perform line dances practiced during our Country Line Dance Program.
Announcing Late Night at the Lodge!
Have you ever had one of those nights when you don't know whether programs end at 8:00 or 8:30? That won't be a problem for much longer! Late Night at the Lodge has been added to September programming. Late Night at the Lodge will give members a little more time to sit and socialize with their friends after a full night of active programs. We will have the game room and family room open Tuesdays through Thursdays until 8:30. We are looking forward to this extra time with members!

Please look at the Sept. schedule closely as some of our program times have changed in order to accommodate more program slots.

Mobile Smart Home Tour
Tristan, our Tech Time instructor, has arranged for a Mobile Smart home to visit Colin's Lodge. The Mobile Smart Home demonstrates remote supports, in other words, how technology can be used to increase independent living for people with developmental disabilities. We are very excited about this opportunity for members and their families to see this technology in person.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday Sept. 7th.
Family members will have the opportunity to tour the Smart Home first from 6:15-6:45. Members will tour in groups from 6:45-8:15.

Members should sign up for Tech Time on Mind Body to attend this event!

Biker Dance
September 23rd
5:30-8:00
Get your motor running as we go hog-wild for our biker-themed dance! Members who are born to be wild will want to register and dance with the Colin's Lodge gang to cool tunes then refuel with a delicious meal and soft drinks. Be on the lookout for some special invited guests (and beware of those not invited!) Head out on the highway, easy riders and let the good times roll!.
Walk Club News

Congratulations to our members who have earned their spots in the next level of Walk Club!

Ian Colby has earned his FIRST Marathon shirt
Pete Roll earned his SECOND Marathon shirt!

Parking Lot Changes
Colin's Lodge will be improving the parking lot to make it more convenient for our members during drop off and pick up. An additional entrance will be added and traffic lanes will be altered to allow two (one direction) lanes instead of parking spaces. Drivers can pull into these lanes and wait for the members to come to their cars, similar to pick up at dances. We believe this will eliminate some of the congestion experienced in the front of the building. Watch for a separate email for more specific information.
Weather permitting, work will begin on August 29th.
The Lodge will remain open normal hours but the front parking lot will be closed.
