Looking forward to great possibilities this year

Greetings!

I am so glad 2021 is here! Amen? I am looking forward to great possibilities this year adding to the things we learned last year from the pandemic. Even with our restrictions and limitations, you served our community like never before.

This month we will be hosting a Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center Blood Drive on Sunday, January 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each day our local hospitals need over 1000 units of blood and the pandemic is limiting supplies significantly. The Blood Center is taking every precaution to keep donors safe during this time of COVID. They are limiting the number of donors in the coach and making sure those who give are screened for symptoms and fever. Everyone in the donor coach is required to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer. Due to these limitations, they are asking everyone to sign up online to be sure the process goes smoothly for everyone. You can sign up by clicking here.

Local non-profits are looking for volunteers who can help. Here are some of the needs we know about for the month of January.

Virtual Family Game Night

Fri., January 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Join us for a fun virtual game night that you and your child are sure to love. We will be playing variations of Bingo, awarding prizes for the winners, and finding out how we can follow some simple Rules for Life that we see in the Bible. This event is for children ages K - 5th grade and their families. Sign-up by Jan. 27th to reserve your spot!

Online and In-person Study:

Companions in Christ

This 28-week faith-formation study offers a way to expand both the mind and heart of the disciple of Christ in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. The foundational content of Companions in Christ explores the Christian spiritual life under five headings: Journey, Scripture, Prayer, Call and Spiritual Guidance.

Online study is on Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will begin January 31. In-person study is on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon and will begin on February 3.
