Hi Parkway!

We are back after summer vacation! I enjoy keeping up with where everyone is going/cruising/camping/visiting, over the summer, but I love the feeling of all landing back in the same place together. I hope you and your family had a chance to get away, rest, see something new, and get ready to jump back into all that comes with a new school year!



Here's a quick look at some ways you can connect back into community, service, and growing at Parkway in the days, weeks, and months ahead:

Mid-Year Update: THIS SUNDAY!

This Sunday, after the 10.30am service, I will host a mid-year update in the Worship Center to give anyone who's interested a look at where Parkway has been over the past 6 months and where we hope to go in the next! There will be updates on finances, facilities, children and student ministries, and ongoing projects. The presentations should last about 20 - 30 minutes with time after for questions about anything/everything going on with Parkway. Childcare will be provided.



Table Talk Potluck on August 24th

On Sunday, August 24th, Parkway's monthly Table Talk Potluck will happen in the Atrium of the Ministry Center. It's a time to grab some food, meet new Parkway people, and do the work of being a community. Bring some kind of food to share. It'll be a great chance to all be together now that we're back from summer break.



Student Ministry Events

Next week Josiah will host Back to School Ice Cream Hang Out nights for High School (August 18th) and Middle School (August 19th), both at Marble Slab on Mercantile Dr.

Then on Friday, August 22nd all 6th - 12th graders are invited to a Game Night in the Student Ministry Area from 6 - 9pm.



Home Repair Crew Sign-Up

This past summer, Kevin Johnson put together a list of construction/home repair projects for teams of students and adults to tackle. It quickly became clear that from Richmond to Missouri City to Stafford to Sugar Land, we have lots of neighbors that can use some help! If you would be willing to be a part of a home repair crew — working on projects from building wheelchair ramps so people can access their homes, to repairing fences, painting, and beyond — please use the following link to sign up:

The goal is to send crews out starting next month on Saturday mornings, Sunday mornings, or both!

Also, this is not Parkway exclusive! If you have a friend, neighbor, etc. that wants to serve people in need, and the community on a home repair crew, please share this information with them!



Men's Breakfast & Bible Study

Parkway men are invited to join the Men's Breakfast and Bible Study for a laid back time of connecting, building relationships, and spiritual conversation.

Our next Men's Breakfast and Bible Studies will be August 19th, 7am at Rudy's BBQ (20500 Southwest Fwy, Richmond). 

Celebrating Parkway Children’s Day School Teachers/Staff

Parkway Children’s Day School is back on August 26th — with 32 teachers and over 160 students enrolled for another great school year!

I would love to put together a "Congrats! You made it through the first week of school" gift for all of our PCDS teachers. If you are good at this sort of thing and would be willing to help Parkway staff put this together, please reply to this email and let me know!
