Who is the Cosmic Turtle and How is
She/He related to Presence?
The Cosmic Turtle Moon is the 13th of the 13 Moons in a Dreamspell Cycle. This Moon invokes the Magic of Universal Movement and Destiny as well as signals an opportunity to experience Deep Presence. Considering the Turtle as Totem for this Moon, I reflect upon the 13 larger sections (scutes) that create many turtle's shells. Native American Tribes have referred to the Turtle shell as a Calendar, for indeed not only does it have 13 primary scutes to reflect the 13 Moons of the Lunar Calendar, the shell also has 28 smaller sections around the perimeter of the shell, one for each day in the 28 day Moon Cycle. And yet the Turtle is One being.
The word Omni-dimensional comes to mind - a spherical premise; mandalic synthesis, a place at which tapping into the quality of existence in each dimension of experience ultimately births the experience of an expanded awareness and experience of Oneness - a synthesis of all that has been.
Since July 26, 2015 we have experienced 12 28 day Dreamspell Moon Cycles each one expressing its own unique energies and we, as unique beings express and interact within these cycles experiencing them in our own ways...birthing, beginning, challenged and challenging, loving, serving, defining and measuring, radiating, balancing, going within, healing, learning, growing, expanding, contracting, weaving, aligning, shining, dancing, flowing, giving and receiving, questioning, shadowing, catalyzing, transforming, finding purpose and meaning, manifesting, letting go, integrating, crystalizing....
and arriving here and now at the 13th Moon,
The Cosmic Turtle Moon of Presence
In the midst of all the movement, the changing, there is an Essence within that never changes. In our deepest Heart Space we are Present - always. Presence is staying connected to that unchanging Essence. As a current circle of experience stabilizes and completes, we Spiral and take Magical Flight into a new level of experience and find Freedom relative to our present path.
When in touch with our Essence we may feel at one with and a part of something greater - a feeling sense - without having to do - a sense of community without having to cognize the other members of the community. We are at Home within ourselves and simultaneously Inclusive. This is the nature of the Divine Feminine (who also embraces her Divine Masculine aspect). In the arms of great Mother , Gaia, Goddess, Cosmic Turtle, we can Love ourselves and others to wholeness
When in touch with our Essence we become more an observer of life, able to detach from over-identification with any experiences (perceived as good or bad) understanding that it is our Essence underneath that matters most.
What we do for and in our own personal part of realizing Presence is important to and effects each individual aspect and therefore the totality of our inherent Oneness.
The Cosmic Turtle honors the depths of her Instinctual Wisdom and is open to the Realm of Infinite Possibility. She not only Knows, She Dreams and is linked to the Alchemical Goddess, and the Rainbow through the magical vibration of 13.
 Most cultures and sources of animal wisdom consider turtle a symbol of Gaia, of Feminine Wisdom, of Patience, Perseverance, Steadfastness. Endurance, Longevity, Non-Violence, Heightened Senses. Turtle is distinguished from Tortoise because turtle lives either near or in water while tortoise inhabits only land. The land and water connection of Turtle highlights the Yin aspect attributed by most to turtle. Turtle carries her home on her back - she is at home wherever she is - home within herself - where creating heaven on earth begins. In the Far East, the turtle shell was a symbol of heaven and earth and the turtles magic was thought to help unite heaven and earth within our own lives.
