Council Update
Pandemic Response Team
Worship & Music Ministry Team
Initial Next Steps Identified!
Thanks be to God!

As our Council and Staff and Pandemic Response Team and Worship & Music Ministry Team continue to collaborate and to evaluate the most recent information from the CDC, the Governor, and Stay Safe MN, here are a few updates for the ministry we share:

  • We respect individual choices regarding face masks, following the most recent updates from the CDC, those fully vaccinated need not wear face masks.
  • Congregational singing has resumed (Masks not needed, as Dakota County has reached 70% vaccination rate!)
  • Signing up for worship, social distancing, being seated and dismissed from worship are no longer necessary.
  • Worship will continue indoors this summer.
  • Staff office hours will be updated in the coming weeks.
  • Protocols for worship and our day-to-day activities are evolving and will be updated and finalized and will be available in the coming weeks.

As we thank those who continue to bless us with their leadership during this time, we equally give thanks to each and every member of the ministry we share as we have made this journey with the patience, cooperation, support, and ongoing generosity of one and all! You each give energy and hope and drive to bless our ministry! We look forward to sharing the joy and spirit of these next steps and so much more!

If you have questions, to get involved, to volunteer, to learn more, talk with anyone in leadership or reach out to our staff and we will help you get started: info@lordoflifemn.org

Thanks be to God for one and all, as together we make God and our neighbors first!

Meeting in the church garden (weather permitting)
Join us to discuss The Rent Collector by Cameron Wright on Monday, June 28, 6 p.m. We will meet in Lord of Life's garden (weather permitting) - please bring a chair.

Survival for Ki Lim and Sang Ly is a daily battle at Stung Meanchey, the largest municipal waste dump in all of Cambodia. They make their living scavenging recyclables from the trash. Life would be hard enough without the worry for their chronically ill child, Nisay, and the added expense of medicines that are not working. Just when things seem worst, Sang Ly learns a secret about the ill-tempered rent collector who comes demanding money -- a secret that sets in motion a tide that will change the life of everyone it sweeps past. The Rent Collector is a story of hope, of one woman's journey to save her son and another woman's chance at redemption. It demonstrates that everyone deserves a second chance.

After The Rent Collector, we'll read Mind Games by Nancy Mehl, and meet to discuss that on Sunday, August 8, 6 p.m. Join us at any time, for any book, as your schedule allows!

Camping Ministry

Interested in Summer Camp?
Camping for your children? Your family?
Though camping looks different this summer, here are a few options to consider!

Your Church Council and Pastor Jamie have reached out to some Bible camps to find out the latest and what they are offering this summer. Though camping experiences continue to look different this summer, and while as a ministry we are not organizing a coordinated week at a specific camp this summer, we are confident the 3 camps listed here are doing everything possible to provide a safe and engaging experience.
  • Camp Wapogasset, Amery, WI
  • Luther Point Bible Camp, Grantsburg, WI
  • Camp Onomia Bible Camp, Onamia, MN
To learn more, or if you have any questions, please talk with or email Pastor Jamie.
We look forward to sharing and supporting the spirit and energy of camping in new and blessed ways!
Adopt-a-Garden Ministry

"And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food." - Genesis 2:9a

If you like to garden or just putter in the soil, this is the ministry for you!

How does it work?
  • The Memorial Garden and the islands in the parking lot have been divided into many small sections.
  • You simply pick a section you'd like to care for during 2021.
  • This can be an individual, family, or group project -- for all ages.
  • Two or more families may share a section; work separately, or get together for added fun!
  • As weeds love our gardens, we love and give thanks for those who remove them!
  • There is no expense for you to volunteer. (At your discretion, you may decide to utilize a product like Preen to assist you in your efforts).
  • If interested, we are also seeking a few people willing to change the water in the fountain every three weeks or so.

If you'd like to help, have questions, want to learn more, or simply get started, email Pastor Jamie. Thank you for making God first in this blessed way!

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Prayer Shawls Available
Prayer shawls are an amazing gift, made and crafted by those with faith and giving hearts, creativity, and talent! More Prayer Shawls and Pocket Prayer Shawls have been completed and dedicated.

Do you know someone who would be blessed to be wrapped in prayer, to know you and others are praying for them; do you know others are praying for you? These prayer shawls and pocket prayer shawls are available to you, for you personally, or for you to give to another.

Most of those crafting prayer shawls continue to do so at home. This ministry is open to anyone interested. To share your interest, or to request a prayer shawl, contact Crystal Hendrix or Julie Blomster for more information.
