In week five of The Lord's Prayer curriculum, participants learn about debts, sins, and forgiveness. Because God made us for connection and belonging, sin is the breaking of those relationships This happens through the choices we make as individuals as well as decisions made by groups or systems. Participants will learn how forgiveness is the restoration and renewal of relationships. Please review the curriculum packet for week five and follow the lesson.
Scripture Reflection: Read the reflection about prayer. Point out the Lord's Prayer on the coloring pages and read the sentences with your children. What are debts, sins, and trespasses?
Activity: Make a caring tree with your family. After you make the tree, add examples of ways you can participate in restoration with God and each other. As you complete the activity and color the Lord's Prayer coloring pages, use the discussion questions to talk with your children about prayer. Finish the lesson with the Closing Prayer. Take pictures of your creations and share with Children's Ministry!
