Basics of Quilting
Tue. Feb. 5 6 - 9 pm

This course is perfect for anyone who would like to learn to quilt. At orientation we discuss the pattern, the supply list, and you choose your fabrics. As you complete your quilt top during the following 4 classes, the course covers rotary cutting basics, sewing and sub-cutting strip sets, constructing pieced blocks, attaching borders and binding. Some homework is required.
Hand Applique
Thurs. Feb 7 6 - 9 pm

No sewing machine needed, this is all hand work. Slow down the pace and learn the basics of needle turn hand appliqué .  We will use Kim Diehl’s book ‘Simple Appliqué’ as a reference, focusing on the needle turn method of appliqué. You will learn how to prep the pieces, learn the invisible tack stitch, learn how to work with points and curves, circles and bias stems. This project has bigger pieces, making it easy for a beginner to learn the basics of hand appliqué .

Treat someone special to a wonderfully soft Cuddle blankie. Complete an infant or child sized project in 1 class as you learn skills that can be applied to larger projects. Cuddle kit required.
Lemoyne Trails

This is a beautiful quilt that showcases the Lemoyne Star and snail’s trail blocks. The pattern is designed as a companion pattern for the Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star and Large Square Squared tools by Studio 180 Design (tools required). Haven’t tried these great tools? That’s not a problem as Gail will provide instructions on their use in class. A great project using the greatest tools!

11 am - 12:30 pm

Prism
Tue. Feb. 19 10am - noon

This lovely quit is constructed using split rectangle units. So much fun to play with colour here - let your imagination run wild! The quilt is precisely pieced thanks to the use of Deb Tucker’s “Split Rects” ruler. If you are into “precision piecing”, this quilt is for you!
One Block Wonder
Fri. Feb. 22 6 - 8 pm OR
Sat Mar 2 1 - 3pm
Please note that the Class Newsletter indicated that the session starting Mar. 21 had classes on Thursday night. Classes are all on Saturdays!

These quilts are addictive! Every hexagon you make is different – and has three options! There are no “Y” seams - it’s all straight line piecing. You can choose to use yardage and make a traditional one (similar to the one in the bottom picture) or you can start with a panel and enlarge it with the hexies (similar to the one in the top picture). Both use the same techniques. We have fabric arriving daily, so you never know what you may find in stock. There is always something wonderful to sew for these beautiful quilts.
Pajama Pants
Mon Feb 25 @6 pm

Join Debra to construct pajama pants for your favorite child, teen or adult. Stick to the basic pattern or customize your project with pockets and a different waistline treatment.
NOTE: We ask that when attending the various classes and clubs that
you be mindful of other students suffering from allergies and keep scented body products to a minimum.
