Coming Soon! MyLosAlEngage

We are pleased to announce our up-and-coming Community Engagement Platform. MyLosAlEngage will be our community’s one-stop shop for upcoming projects in the City. It will allow interested parties to learn more about large projects in their community, check the status of a project, learn how to get involved, and sign up for future updates to projects. We hope you’ll find this new tool valuable. This platform will launch by the end of the year!

Residential Permit Parking & Street Sweeping Survey

The first of a series of Community Workshops providing education on the survey will take place next Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Los Alamitos Community Center II building (10909 Oak Street). When you attend any of the workshops, you will learn more about neighborhood parking and the current street sweeping schedule. Attendees are encouraged to participate in the survey and provide valuable input. Check website for more information on upcoming workshops.

Los Alamitos Aquatics is Year Round


The City of Los Alamitos is excited to announce that we will be offering year round aquatics programming! The Los Alamitos Aquatics Program we will be offering Youth Swim Lessons and Adult Lap Swim starting in January on Saturday and Sundays. All lessons and lap swim will be held at the Los Alamitos High School Pool

Level 1 (5-12yrs)

Holiday Decorating Contest

Decorate your home for the holiday season! The City of Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department would like to invite all the City of Los Alamitos residents to participate in the 2023 Holiday Decorating Contest sponsored by Ganahl Lumber. Judges will be out on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 to discover Los Al’s most decorative homes! Registration is encouraged; however, all Los Alamitos homes will be considered with lighted displays on between 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Awards will be given for the following divisions: Brightest, Most Creative, and Most Holiday Spirit. *Participating neighborhoods will receive awards.

Co-ed Youth Basketball League & Song Team

The City of Los Alamitos offers a Co-ed Youth Basketball League sponsored by MemorialCare Miller Children's and Women's Hospital Long Beach and in partnership with Jr. Clippers for grades K-8th with practices taking place at local school sites. Games are on Saturdays at Oak Middle School Gym. Teams are coached by Recreation Staff. Player's jersey, shorts, and awards are included in the fee. Scholarship opportunities are available for eligible Los Alamitos residents. Please reference the ad above for Youth Basketball practice site options and Song Team information.

SHOP LOCAL this HOLIDAY Season

Small Business Saturday just passed and we would like to thank everyone who contributed. However, the fun doesn’t stop as we want to encourage residents to spread the joy and visit their favorite coffee shop, dine at your local restaurant, and support your hometown businesses throughout the Holiday season.

Revive Los Alamitos

The City’s Economic Development Division is excited to launch this program in February 2024. Los Alamitos based businesses will be invited to consider this grant opportunity to assist brick and mortar storefronts and commercial establishments to invest in their property towards improvements to their façade. Additional criteria and eligibility rules will apply. Interested businesses are encouraged to contact the Development Services Department for any questions by calling City Hall at (562) 431-3538 or visit
