Weight loss strategies to help you reach your goals!!
When we talk about weight loss, it's not just about losing weight and then finding it again!  When we lose weight, we want it lost for good!! Sure, you have a weight-loss goal to reach, but once you get there, you don't just stop eating right and working out. "No way, Jose!" You keep it up because it's a healthy lifestyle that makes you feel great.

Here are some helpful tips for you to lose weight and never find it again!

Drink Plenty of Water!!  Drinking water helps maintain the balance of body fluids, can help control calories, helps energize muscles, keeps your skin looking good, helps flush toxins out of your body, helps maintain normal bowel functions, and so much more! So make sure you are getting at least 8 glasses of water a day!  Cheers!! Drink up!

Get Support!!  Whether it's friends, family members, or co-workers, having a support system is a great tool to losing and maintaining weight loss.  It makes it easier to stick with a plan when you have support, can share tips on diet and exercise and have an exercise buddy!  So find that special someone!!

Get Moving and Stay Moving!!  Being active is very important for losing weight and keeping it off!  Get active doing something you love; whether it's walking, biking, dancing, playing sports, etc.  Shoot for at least three days of cardio activities a week and two days of resistance training, but remember some is better than none! Challenge yourself in little areas as well; take the stairs, park further away, walk on a break at work, etc.  Now get moving!!

Reflect and Remind Yourself!!  Journal, weigh in, measure, and take pictures of yourself so you can see your progress!  You don't have to do it every day, but once a week it's good to remember where you were and how far you've come!  Remember, healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week; you didn't gain it all over night, so it will take time, effort, dedication and patience to get rid of those unwanted pounds.  Here we go!!

Embrace the Lifestyle!!  Losing weight is about improving your life, not restricting it!  After a few weeks of eating healthy and exercising, you should not only look better, you should feel better too!!  Be sure to focus on the positive and embrace your healthy living choices each and every day! Remember, it is a CHOICE- and you have CHOSEN to be healthy and happy!!  Cheers to you on your journey!!

This Months Recipe:

Basic Vegetable Soup


1 tablespoon olive oil or coconut oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
4 celery stalks, chopped
1 medium zucchini, diced
2-3 carrots, chopped
6 cups vegetable broth
1 28-ounce can diced or crushed tomatoes
3/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon dried dill weed
Sea salt and ground pepper
1 bunch kale leaves, stems removed, chopped
Over medium heat, in a large pot add oil and sauté garlic, onion, and celery.  When onions are translucent, add zucchini, carrots, and cabbage.  Stir and heat for another 4-5 minutes.  Add broth, tomatoes, parsley, dill, sea salt, and pepper.  Let simmer for at least 30 minutes.  About 5 minutes before serving, add kale and allow to simmer for a few minutes until kale wilts.  Serves 8.
