Suicide Prevention Month: Know the Warning Signs
In recognition of Suicide Prevention Month, the Foundation asked Michelle Parks, Director of Ascension St. Vincent Evansville's Behavioral Health, about the importance of discussing our mental health as a community and as individuals.
"Mental Health is a pivotal part of an individual's overall health and living a healthy, balanced life; yet it is often a muted topic of discussion, if it is even discussed at all, due to the stigma surrounding mental illness. Mental disorders are quite common and there is treatment to help with recovery... Talking about mental health helps improve our communities by making it more acceptable for those experiencing mental illness to seek help and get on the road to recovery."

If you or a loved one are suicidal, go to the hospital emergency room or call the Suicide Prevention Hotline at 812-422-1100.
Help support Ascension St. Vincent Evansville's Behavioral Health services which provide critical inpatient behavioral healthcare to adults in our Tri-State community.
