Together we can do it, one blanket at a time! Current number: 7,066

My Very Own Blanket is brings blankets of love, comfort and hope to children in foster care. Here is how you can help us do just that!

  • Order blanket kits online. Pick up inside our workshop Monday - Friday, 9 am to Noon, or use our 24-hour curbside bin just outside the workshop.

  • Drop off your finished blankets in the 24-hour curbside bin outside our workshop..

  • Not in Central Ohio? Sponsor our "no-sew" blanket kits online to have them sent to you. We will help you contact your local children's services to deliver to kids in care in your area! Learn more
Rotary Interact Club sponsors socially distanced blanket project
From fundraising to blanket drop-off, the Anthony Wayne Interact Club from Waterville Rotary sponsored a "contactless" project that resulted in 200 blankets for the children served by Lucas County Children’s Services.

In December, Interact members raised funds to buy 200 blanket kits with an online sale (with drive-thru pickup) of Christmas/holiday décor.

Blanket makers picked up their kits and dropped off finished blankets without leaving their cars.

Three Club officers delivered the blankets to Lucas
County Children's Services. Many thanks to Anthony Wayne Interact Club for this very successful campaign.
250 blanket kits shipped to JPMC Texas
JPMorgan Chase employees in the Houston and San Antonio areas, in a National Volunteer Week activity, ordered kits from MVOB to make 250 “no-sew” fleece blankets for local children’s services and agencies. The company provided the funds to purchase and ship the kits. Here, a postal worker processes the many packages on their way to Texas. Many thanks to all!

A new Heavenly Blanket Angel
Loretta Ballenger, a long-time MVOB volunteer, passed away on April 9, 2021.
Jessica shares some memories: I first met Loretta standing in line at the Post Office. I talked to her about MVOB and how I got started. I saw her next at a blanket making event I was leading at my children’s elementary school. More
Gamma Chapter women educators hold virtual blanket-making event
We are grateful for the support of the women educators of the local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. The society’s focus on supporting programs that help children in foster care led the group to make blankets for MVOB. Gamma Chapter members are shown above in screenshots with the blankets they made at home while connecting virtually. We are grateful for their help in reaching our 2021 goal.
Note Writer Needed. We are looking for a volunteer to write thank you notes to people who help us in a variety of ways. The notes can be emailed or handwritten, and we have templates you can use. Interested? Contact Jessica at [email protected] or 614-530-3327.
Group effort at St. Luke’s Lutheran
These blanket angels are members of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, which has supported us for many years, producing hundreds of blankets (196 and counting just this year!)

During COVID, they kept working individually at home.  We are very grateful for their support.
Moo Moo fundraiser was a big success
MVOB received a check for $1,166 from the sale of $1 air fresheners during a fundraiser in March sponsored by the Westerville south location of Moo Moo Express Car Wash. 100% of the proceeds will benefit children in foster care. Many thanks to our neighborhood partner, Moo Moo Express.
Do you advocate for children in foster care?
If you are a caseworker or advocate for children in foster care, we would love to provide blankets that you can share with kids who could use something to hold onto. Just tell us how many you need. 614-530-3327 or [email protected]
