NYCPM ‘Falls into Health’ with Touro and Other Partners
NYCPM partnered with the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine on October 22 for “Fall into Health,” a community health fair held at the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building Plaza on West 125 Street.
Approximately 1,000 people came through the fair and about 100 received foot screenings, according to Anthony R. Iorio, DPM, MPH, Chair of the Department of Community Health and Medicine, who organized NYCPM’s team. Diabetes screenings that day included foot screenings, as students from the other participating schools referred visitors to NYCPM, knowing that complications from diabetes involve the feet. Dr. Iorio felt that the event, the first live community screening since the onset of Covid, was a success and looks forward to more.
